surface water

The term 'surface water' as it applies to the area of reclamation can be defined as ' Water on the surface of the earth. An open body of water, such as a river, stream or lake. All water naturally open to the atmosphere (rivers, lakes, reservoirs, streams, impoundments, seas, estuaries, etc.) and all springs, wells, or other collectors which are directly influenced by surface water'.

The term 'surface water' as it applies to the area of hazardous materials can be defined as 'Water on the surface of the earth, such as in lakes, rivers, streams, ponds, and springs [compare with groundwater]'.

The term 'surface water' as it applies to the area of water can be defined as 'water that is on the Earth's surface, such as in a stream, river, lake, or reservoir'.

The term 'surface water' as it applies to the area of carbon dioxide can be defined as ' All water naturally open to the atmosphere'.
