The term 'morphodynamics' as it applies to the area of coastlines can be defined as ' (1) the mutual interaction and adjustment of the seafloor topography and fluid dynamics involving the motion of sediment. (2) the coupled suite of mutually interdependent hydrodynamic processes, seafloor morphologies and sequences of change'.
