The term 'inverse relationship' as it applies to the area of basic math can be defined as 'additive: a number when added to a given number results in a sum of zero (note: also called identity property of addition)multiplicative: a number when multiplied to a given number results in a product of one (note: also referred to as the identity property of multiplication)'.
