Thermodynamics

The term 'Thermodynamics' as it applies to the area of the weather can be defined as ' In general, the relationships between heat and other properties (such as temperature, pressure, density, etc.) In forecast discussions, thermodynamics usually refers to the distribution of temperature and moisture (both vertical and horizontal) as related to the diagnosis of atmospheric instability'.

The term 'Thermodynamics' as it applies to the area of energy can be defined as ' A study of the transformation of energy from one form to another, and its practical application'.
