Right-of-way

The term 'Right-of-way' as it applies to the area of energy can be defined as ' The land and legal right to use and service the land along which a transmission line is located. Transmission line right-of-way is usually acquired in widths that vary with the kilovolt (kV) size of the line'.

The term 'Right-of-way' as it applies to the area of reclamation can be defined as ' The land on and immediately surrounding a structure that is owned by the entity holding title to the structure'.
