Littoral Zone

The term 'Littoral Zone' as it applies to the area of reclamation can be defined as ' The zone or strip of land along the shoreline between the high and low water marks. That portion of a body of fresh water extending from the shoreline lakeward to the limit of occupancy of rooted plants'.

The term 'Littoral Zone' as it applies to the area of coastlines can be defined as ' an indefinite zone extending seaward from the shoreline to just beyond the breaker zone'.

The term 'Littoral Zone' as it applies to the area of the weather can be defined as ' In hydrologic terms, the area on, or near the shore of a body water'.
