Landfill

The term 'Landfill' as it applies to the area of reclamation can be defined as ' An open area where trash is buried. Facility in which solid waste from municipal and/or industrial sources is disposed; sanitary landfills are those that are operated in accordance with environmental protection standards'.

The term 'Landfill' as it applies to the area of the environment can be defined as 'Land waste disposal site in which waste is generally spread in thin layers, compacted, and covered with a fresh layer of soil each day.7'.
