Environmental assessment (EA)

The term 'Environmental assessment (EA)' as it applies to the area of reclamation can be defined as ' A NEPA compliance document used to determine if an action would have a significant effect on the human environment. If not, a finding of no significant impact (FONSI) is written. If so, an environmental impact statement (EIS) is written'.
