Earthquake

The term 'Earthquake' as it applies to the area of reclamation can be defined as ' A sudden motion or trembling in the earth caused by the abrupt release of accumulated stress along a fault. See design basis earthquake (DBE), maximum credible earthquake (MCE), maximum design earthquake (MDE), operating basis earthquake (OBE), random earthquake, and safety evaluation earthquake'.

The term 'Earthquake' as it applies to the area of volcanos can be defined as '   The abrupt shaking of the ground caused by an abrupt shift of rock along a fracture in the Earth'.
