The term 'Discharge Rate' as it applies to the area of photovoltaics can be defined as ' The current that is withdrawn from a battery over time. Expressed as a percentage of battery capacity. For instance, a C/5 discharge rate indicates a current equal to one-fifth of the rated capacity of the battery'.
