Detritus

The term 'Detritus' as it applies to the area of the weather can be defined as ' In hydrologic terms, (1) the heavier mineral debris moved by natural watercourses, usually in bed-load form. (2) the sand, grit, and other coarse material removed by differential sedimentation in a relatively short period of detention'.

The term 'Detritus' as it applies to the area of coastlines can be defined as ' small fragments of rock which have been worn or broken away from a mass by the action of water or waves'.

The term 'Detritus' as it applies to the area of reclamation can be defined as ' Loose material that results directly from disintegration'.
