Current Meter

The term 'Current Meter' as it applies to the area of coastlines can be defined as ' an instrument for measuring the velocity of a current. it is traditionally operated by a wheel equipped with vanes of cups which is rotated by the action of the impinging current. a recording device is provided to indicate the speed of rotation which is correlated with the velocity of the current'.

The term 'Current Meter' as it applies to the area of the weather can be defined as ' In hydrologic terms, device used to measure the water velocity or current in a river. '.
