Comprehensive Facility Review (CFR)

The term 'Comprehensive Facility Review (CFR)' as it applies to the area of reclamation can be defined as ' A review performed on a high- or significant-hazard dam every 6 years, which includes a field examination and a state-of-the-art review of a structure's design assumptions, construction practices, and integrity under various loading conditions. A detailed examination performed on dams with a senior dam engineer. Comprehensive facility reviews are designed to gather together appropriate technical disciplines for a brief, but intensive assessment of a dam's performance history, the dam safety analyses that have been performed to date, and the current condition of the dam and damsite.
