Alluvium

The term 'Alluvium' as it applies to the area of reclamation can be defined as ' Material transported and deposited by flowing water, such as clay, silt, sand, and gravel. Soil, the constituents of which have been transported in suspension by flowing water and subsequently deposited by sedimentation. A stratified bed of sand, gravel, silt, and clay deposited by flowing water'.

The term 'Alluvium' as it applies to the area of water can be defined as 'deposits of clay, silt, sand, gravel, or other particulate material that has been deposited by a stream or other body of running water in a streambed, on a flood plain, on a delta, or at the base of a mountain'.

The term 'Alluvium' as it applies to the area of the weather can be defined as ' Sediments deposited by erosional processes, usually by streams'.
