The term 'Aerobic' as it applies to the area of reclamation can be defined as ' A condition in which free (atmospheric) or dissolved oxygen is present in water. The opposite of anaerobic'.

The term 'Aerobic' as it applies to the area of hazardous materials can be defined as 'Requiring oxygen [compare with anaerobic]'.
