Adiabatic Process

The term 'Adiabatic Process' as it applies to the area of carbon dioxide can be defined as ' A thermodynamic change of state of a system such that no heat or mass is transferred across the boundaries of the system. In an adiabatic process, expansion always results in cooling, and compression in warming'.

The term 'Adiabatic Process' as it applies to the area of the weather can be defined as ' A process which occurs with no exchange of heat between a system and its environment'.
