Unauthorized clerk -- One who, although admitted to the London Stock Exchange, is an attendant only on the member of 'the exchange by whom he is employed ; his presence is for the purpose of checking (making and comparing memoranda cf) bargains (contracts). An authorized clerk is authorized by the committee for general purposes of the exchange to transact business on the exchange for his employer.
