Future -- A contract the fulfilment of which is not required until a specified time in the future. Most of the dealings in grain, especially wheat, corn and oats, and in cotton and coffee, are in futures. A future is designated by the name of the month in which it matures. For instance, July grain r cotton or coffee sold in January (or in any month before July) is deliverable in July.
