Close prices -- Prices near together. For instance, a bid and asked price is close when separated by only a small fraction, as 100 bid and 100.10 asked. Again, the term applies to a stock or a commodity in which the fluctuations in the price are small or narrow. In mercantile dealings a close price is one very near to cost one that allows of only a minimum profit.
