Classified stock -- A stock is classified when any particular kind of stock is divided into two or more classes, as, for instance, when preferred stock is divided into first preferred and second preferred and perhaps third preferred. In Great Britain ordinary (common) stock is frequently divided into two classes B and A ; other names for these two classes being preferred ordinary and deferred ordinary.
