TeachMeFinance.com - explain Accumulation

Accumulation -- In corporate finance, earnings that are included in a firm's capital base instead of being disbursed in the form of dividends. In investment, acquisition of a lot of shares in a moderated manner such that the price is not pushed up. It may take weeks or even months for an organization to implement such a plan of accumulation. In mutual funds transactions, periodic investment of a fixed dollar amount and plowing back of dividends and capital gains.
